About Irene
Behind every life changed at scale is an institution that is effective, trusted, and built to last. That is what I build.
I did not start out as a consultant; I co-founded and built Parliament Watch straight out of law school and won the Uganda Law Society's Young Female Lawyer of the Year Award for its impact.
Then I spent the next several years at various mission-driven international institutions, such as the Aga Khan Development Network, working in several countries, while learning how enduring architecture works from the inside.
A business education combining Ivy League rigour with real proximity to complex markets nuance gave me the final piece: the private sector lens to genuine, lasting impact in Africa.

I founded The Muyi Group in 2019 from a question I could not stop asking: why do so many African organisations with genuine impact still struggle to be believed, funded, and built to last?
The answer, almost always, was architecture; the strategic narrative was missing; the governance structures were borrowed from elsewhere and didn't hold; the responsible business practice existed on paper but not in operations. Muyi exists to solve exactly those problems for the organisations doing the most important work on the continent.
The firm, by design, focuses on depth rather than volume. We partner with a select number of clients each year to deliver value and high quality outcomes.
